What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

Our sole authority for faith and practice is the Holy Bible. All that we believe and all that we do must comfrom and be guided by what the Bible says. The following beliefs are based on Biblical teaching...

God

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

The Bible

We believe that the King James Version of the Bible is the Preserved Word of God in the English language. The Bible contains 66 books comprising the Old and New Testaments. The central theme of the entire Bible is God's love extended to mankind whom He created.

Mankind

God made Adam and his wife Eve. They were created in an innocent condition, but chose to sin of their free will. Because of their sin the curse of sin and its consequences have befallen all others. Only through the sacrifice of Jesus the Son of God can we be forgiven.

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He was born of a virgin and therefore not under the curse of sin. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who repent of their sinful condition and call upon Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

The Church

The church is a local, visible assembly of believers who are united in faith, doctrine, and practice. The New Testament period churches had no denominations but all held like doctrine and practice. As variations began to spawn those who held to true New Testament doctrine became known by many different names but always held to the same doctrine. Ultimately, those who held these New Testament doctrines became know as Baptists.

The End Times

We believe that Jesus is coming again to take to Heaven all who know Christ as their Savior. This event known as the Rapture will be a physical removal of all living saved as well as a physical resurrection of the saved who have died. Following the Rapture will be a 7 year period known as the Tribulation. After the Rapture those who heard the Gospel and rejected it will be deceived and will not have any further opportunity to be saved.
